12" monkey bars
Yes another monkey bar post. I have a few questions, I have a 2014 street glide special putting 12" Monkey bars on. The trick pre 2014 was using the cvo throttle by wire. Is it still useful to use the cvo TBW on rushmore bikes.

It is but you need to replace the bike end connector with the one from your stock harness. For whatever reason MoCo reversed the plugs in 2014 (switched male and female plugs.) You need to buy $2 in pins from a dealer and a $16 pair of pliers at Home Depot to do the swap.

Why replace the TBW unit if there's nothing wrong with it?

There really is nothing wrong with it. Plenty long enough but it has this nasty little green plug/connection about 8" or so down from then twist grip sensor end that makes pulling the harness thru the bars a large pain in the rear. Especially on a set of monkey bars.

This will be my third set of monkey bars, it was a pain with the green connector number one pulling through bars and next getting it together only to find that it came unplugged. I ordered one but just pulled wires through and going to try my luck and hope that it didnt come apart. My next concern is hoping the clutch and Brake lines are long enough did some research and they should be. Thanks for the info guys

Monkey bars are nice. And the hardest part of putting them on is pulling the wires on the 14 and up. The rest is really easy. Just take your time. I used masonry string to pull the wires through. Use plenty of lube and you'll be safe. The CVO tbw isn't really needed.

There is a good video on youtube on the disassembly of the connector pins, way easier to pull the wires through..
