Default Get ready for version 1.20.3

I loaded 1.20.2 last night and all seemed fine until I shut down the engine. When I started it the next morning only the Harley logo and the time showed on the display and not one of the buttons worked nor was their any sound. I finally found if I pushed the information button on the right hand grip and backed out from there I would be able to activate the GUI but still no sound. At that point I was able to shut down using the power button, powered it up again and it was working fine. That is until I shut the engine down and started it up about an hour later only to find the same issue. Yep 1.20.3 should be right around the corner.

For the life of me I can't understand why Harley insists on using their customer base as a beta test site for software development.

Because that's what all software devs do now (ok, I'm being a little facetious there). Not sure how Harman Kardon do their development but if they are using a modern methodology like sprint agile the concept of beta testing doesn't exist (at least how we once understood beta testing to be done).

I haven't experienced that yet...have you tried re-installing the update?

I installed the 20.2 yesterday and did a 175 mile ride, no problems at all. Started and stopped many times, the system worked fine every time, maybe as rw said try a re-install.

Name one software vendor that does not release updates on a regular basis?

Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Firefox, etc.
They all have constant updates, either to fix issues or add new features.

That is just the way it works, and it is not going to change.

They can test all they want and not discover some of the issues that pop up until the software gets into the consumer hands.

And make no mistake. This Boom System is a computer running software.
So, yes there will be 1.20.3 and then .4, .5 and so on.

PS: I haven't experienced what your describing.

No problems noted with the update, everything works as it should so far.

Default 1.20.2 update

I really like this update and the changes. Especially things like the startup screen self canceling and Map zoom settings.
But, I have also had the screen freeze once on the info page. Nothing I could do would get me back to the Map page. What made it bad was I was on a very twisty ride and had to go to the end to shutdown and deal with the problem.
Fortunately when I shutdown and booted back up all was good and have not had a problem since.
If I was having the same problem as Starwarrior is having I would be pissed.
Starwarrior, I agree with trying a reload of the software (maybe have the dealer do it) and see where it goes from there.
Good luck.

Everyone does this to some extent, it's just the nature of the software/hardware beast in my opinion. Name any product that does not have an update or multiple updates after release to the public.

It's not an excuse to release crappy software and some developers are clearly better than others.

Same thing for me yesterday. Left work and no audio all the way home. Tried every button combo etc. Like you, did get to the point where the unit finally came on, but no sound. So you are not the only one.

No problems here, you may want to reset your system.

EDIT: Guess I shouldn't have said that, went out this A.M. and turn it on and nothing. Turned it off then back on it booted, but when playing from usb, at the top of the screen, it kept displaying "USB" then "reading... " over and over again. Changed to tuner and then back to usb and like normal it just said "usb" throughout the song". I'm going back to .1 this morning.

.1 working great again.... yeah!
