smitty901 - I do like your outlook. Wife and I am much the same. We both love the bike and have a little bass boat that we fish in during the summer.
We use to cruise when the kids wee small - haven't been in 15 years or so. Bars are not our thing. We plan our bike trips during the winter - already schedules for Ohio, North Carolina Roanoke, VA and Grapevine, TX.
I purchased my 2011 and my 2014 after my wife and I returned from Sturgis. She saw them , liked them and said...it's time for a new bike.
I'm certainly intrigued by the new motor, but I'm still in wait-and-see mode. Regardless of whether the new motor represents a vast improvement or not, a lot of the mods I've done to my bike (seat, tour-pak, forward footboards and brake pedal, LED's, Stage II audio, etc.) I would probably want to duplicate with a new bike, so it really doesn't make sense for me at this point. My bike with a Stage One dynos very close to a stock 107, and whether the new stock suspension is better or at least comparable to my Legend suspension is also a consideration. If my bike were still stock I would be a lot more tempted.
Whether or not I get a new bike I'm going to try and keep this one. I really wish I still had kept my Dyna.
I find threads like this amusing. The folks that don't have one and aren't buying one think there's no difference and can't justify upgrading. The folks who have one know better.

The folks that don't have one and aren't buying one think there's no difference ... OR ...are perfectly content with the unit that they have now and will upgrade when it becomes necessary. Do you buy a new car every time they add a new fangled option because that would definitely be amusing to me that one would do that.

I won't deny there's a difference; it's just not enough for me to pay for. If I were looking for a real improvement over my 2002 Dyna TC88, I'd buy another brand of motorcycle.

Great point Larry. If you ride a mostly stock Rushmore than yes the improvements are there for the m8 but most of us that are content with our current bike are not running stock so there is no point to upgrade.
The M8 s are nice
but if I was gonna trade for one over my 2016 I would definately wait till 2018 Anniversary models come out
They will hopefully be very sweet
Each year almost all manufactures come out with improvements. It's up to us the consumer to decide how valuable those improvements are and how much we want them. In my case I plan on keeping my 2015 Ultra Limited for at least another 5-6 years and I'll look forward to the "even more improved" 2022 models!!!!
Ah yes; but I'm going to hold out just one more year for the 2023 "Limited Production" 120th Anniversary, Exclusive and Unique, Collectors Model Edition Harley!

Nope. I've owned my truck since 2008, even after the newer, cooler looking ones came out. My only previous bike was a 2004 RK and I have been without a bike for about a year before getting the new scoot. And there more difference between the 17 and the 16 than a new fangled option.
