you need a flash drive (thumb drive, USB drive) 8 GB or larger
plug it into a USB port on your computer
double click on the zipped folder on your desktop to open it. look for the flash drive listing in the directory (removable disk (E
on the left side of the window in the above example.click on the iso file (it's 859,823 kb) and drag it to the flash drive listing. this should unzip the file and copy it to the root directory of the flash drive .
I usually unzip(extract) the zipped folder before copying the iso file, but this doesn't appear to be necessary
if all this is new to you, you might want to practice a little, write a letter, put it in a folder and copy it to a spare thumb drive.

I wish the Harley site had that step by step guide. That made it easy for non=techie folks like me. Thanks a million!
Even I could follow that and not make a mistake.

It would be very hard for Harley to give step by step instructions for every possible computer operating system out there.
There are several versions of Windows operating system, along with several versions of the Mac OS.
Although similar, there are differences in HOW each of them might accomplish a specific task.
The instructions direct you to copy the unzipped file to a flash drive.
That is really all they need to tell you.
How YOUR system might do that might be just different enough for the someone else, that any instructions they might list would be wrong for that system.
It isn't Harley's job to teach you how to use your computer.
There are lots of books, classes, etc for that if your interested.

So, having said that, I see no reason for me to mess around with software updates.....and I'm a fairly advanced PC user.
