I did this mod quite a while ago. If you purchase
THIS 12 THIS 12" SAE Extension
, you can use the stock tender harness with the plate/plug on the right side like below.

The connector on my Ultra Limited is on the left side. The left side also is against the wall in the garage when I park. I didn't care for the harness hanging out all the time and I hated fishing it out when I needed it. I installed this from HD and have the male portion on my charger. I just roll in and plug in the charger before I even get off the bike. Besides this I like the idea of having one more lighter type power connection if needed.

Good ideas, got me thinking. My pigtail is on the wrong side in the garage when I park, so I'm going to put one of these on the right side. Amazon, $14 plus shipping. I'll make a bracket.
