Tonight I had my first 100+ mile ride in the dark around Lake Mead outside of Las Vegas. WHEN you are able to turn these lights to 100%, it is literally night into day.
I even got the chance to flash oncoming car that left their high beam on, so I flipped my high-beam switch... the Clearwaters went to 100% and that oncoming car saw the light! Lordy did he see it!
I had to keep flipping them off and back on again. It's a huge difference.
and for the day in-city rides... I love the yellow covers, I am already seeing a difference in how and WHEN people see me.
Thanks for the post and previous pm. Installed Darla's last night. Went with a separate acc on/off button on the left side (so I would not run into any state inspection issues) and put the dimmer switch in one of the blanks on the right side.

Looks great! How and where did you mount the controller box? Just wondering if there's a better place than where I mounted mine (Zip Tied under the radio tray)

All the wiring and control box is mounted in the cable tray under the tank ( "x" in photo). That was a nice surprise when I saw that spot looking for the low beam wire (light blue with red stripe for acc port #3 on '15 Limited Low). I put all the excess wiring in this tray as well. The only wire going through the fairing is the small white wire for high beam which I tapped at the connector attaching to the front center daymaker. For the external wire connections to the Darla's themselves, I was going to put them in the blank cavity under the top of the frame but was concerned about the heat buildup as it would be in front of the front cylinder. I ended up putting them in front of the frame and zip tied them to the frame. I have a wind defector attached to the triple tree which there are no clearance issues moving the handle bars left to right.
For the ****, I did not center it on the blank as should the nut come loose, the housing underneath is not going to spin. I had to file down part of the stock black insert but the intensity **** housing is never going to move.

~ 30-40% intensity as pictured. 100% illuminated my neighbors house across the street and he probably did not appreciate it at this late hour. Will try to get a better picture tomorrow. Stock daymaker headlight and passing lights, CD turn signals are white when running and yellow when activated, and Darla's with yellow lenses.

Dr. Tiki
Where did you get the black/blue stripes at the base of your windshield?
I thought just having the Daymaker LED Fog Light set would make sure nobody could miss me coming on and that I'd have plenty of light for night riding. I think I might just have to try this set up. You can never have too much light.
Dirt simple to install. Just need a few 1/8" drill bits and a tap for the crashbar. It's very hard steel and you will break a couple bits and taps in the process. Use the same switch setup as any other fog light setup. Your wires come out of the crashbar up under the neck where ya can't see it then right into a harness.
well first of all... the crash bar is not " hardened steel...... its regular run of the mill metal..... if you are breaking bits and especially taps.......you might wanna head up to your local community collage for a fabrication class, to enhance your mechanical skillz...
