Weird Boom issue
My Boom 6.5 has started doing something strange. I have a USB flash drive plugged in to the USB cable in the jukebox. It contains all of my CD's burned into individual folders all residing in the root directory.
About 1 out of 3 or 4 starts, I will get a message come up on the stereo stating that no playable media was found at the USB port. It WILL, however, play as normal other than I lose my ability to skip to the next song. My solution so far has been to pull the flash drive out, wait and few seconds, then plug it in. After doing this, of course, I have to go and recheck the shuffle box, as I prefer to leave it on shuffle.
Anyone got any ideas what might be the issue?
TIA
Lon
Someone posted the importance of having navigation loaded before inserting the flash drive containing a software update. That is, turn the cycle's power to the ACC position and let the system start. Either hit the navigation soft key or use the left joystick to enter navigation. Do not insert the flash drive if it says navigation is not ready. When the screen showing the navigation icons (Map, POI, Dealership, Where To, etc.) screen shows, then navigation is ready. At that point, insert the software update.
Since doing that, I have not had any problems. Of course, a flash drive can go bad and it wouldn't hurt to carry a spare.
