Thanks all for the ideas.... checked the battery today when I had a few seconds. With the tender disconnected I was getting 12.9 volts. I did not load test it as I don't have that kind of tester. It has been very cold here and it is stored in a unheated garage. Since it has been a little more seasonal (30F or so) I thought I would try to start it today. Now I am not so sure that it is the power and wondering(as stated above) if the started has given up. The noise it makes is much more a mechanical noise than a low power noise.
Appreciate all the answers. For those who ask, it is a HD battery and was installed brand new the end of Sept 17.
You could have a bad charging battery and that one should be under warranty, take it back. There is another post with a guy having the same problem. That being said, when I store my bikes and car for winter, gets pretty cold in Chicago, I bring all my batteries inside and have 2 tenders keeping them charged during the winter. I've been doing this since I bought my car in 2001, and continued with the bikes.
I got 8 yrs with the car battery, 5 yrs with my RKC battery. I believe, w/o scientific data, that the room temp helps until it gets to about 50 degrees average temp or better on a daily basis, then they can go back into their respective rides!
Ride safe!!

yep try another battery. YOu got a bad one guaranteed. I had one right off the shelf, the voltage measured just fine, showed green light on charger....i tried everything until i gave up and bought another one....never had a problem after that....there was a bad cell in the battery or something like that.
