It really wasn't difficult to do , took maybe 5 minutes if that. I believe there is one piece in that assembly that is too small for the cartridge to pass through.
hb...let me know what you find out. I was hoping it was a drop-in also.
The FKC 102 cartridges are drop ins but are not adjustable externally, I have them in my bike, works very well for me, the ones that Stopit is using have to grind the lip off the fork tube to fit, they also look a little more heavy duty and of coarse you can adjust them fairly easy.

Ah, thank you. So basically I have to decide between adjustability and grinding. What is the going price of the FKC 102 vs the adjustable ones, and any insight into if the adjustable is worth the extra effort?

Your welcome
I paid $925.00 for the 102's from Cycle Solutions that included 2 Qts of Ohlins fork oil and three installation tools. I don't know about the other ones, you would probably call Motorcycle Metal
Great write up, thank you. Having to grind the end off my fork tube probably means I won't be going this route. I'm not sure I trust myself to do that one...lol. I assume that all Rushmore's would have to do that?
Its really not that big of a deal. Take your time and everything will be fine. I did the 30mm NIX kit and the install was fairly painless, once the anxiety was overcome.
I never had a set of forks apart before I bought this bike . Got some chrome lowers and was debating whether to let the dealer put them on for me or give it a shot . . $140 the dealer wanted and that's bringing the forks in ! They told me I'd never be able to do it myself as I couldn't compress the spring , they need 2 guys to do it ! Well that's when I decided to do it myself, not that big a deal , sure the spring was stiff but I got it , they must have some wimpy techs I guess.

Its kind of a pain, but its not the worst thing ever. Sounds like job security to me.
