Speedometer problems
2014 FLHX 46,??? miles.
Happened on lunch break two
w ago. Rode it home and parked it.
It runs fine, just dont want to risk further issues.
V INNER on speedometer.
Speedometer,tach,voltmeter drop to 0 sporadically. Took VSS out, clean as a pin!
Battery, charging system checks out good.
Top half of speedometer readout very faint.
DTCs stored in my PV is U0156 lost communication with speedometer.
Have fairing off and cant find any loose connections, chafed wires or anything suspicious. Im about ready the bullet and take it to the STEALERSHIP!

Same thing happened to mine, 2018 RGU CVO, at the end of May,.
Tech's put it down to the Speedometer & Tach cluster needed to be replaced, which they did.
Worked fine at the dealership, but 10 miles later started playing up again.
The bikes been at the dealership for 3 months now and the MotherShip has told them to replace the main wiring harness.
Just waiting for harness to arrive from the states now then 2 days to fit it. Maybe it will cure it Maybe it won't ??.
Luckily the bike was still in warranty.
BTW water pump went at the same time.

Speedometer problems
Well, did all I could do. Took it to the dealer a week ago Saturday. They called back about an hour later and confirmed it was speedometer/tachometer cluster. Replacement cluster (Silver) was $640 before labor and tax. I said go ahead and order it. They called again about 30 minutes later, said they found some black gauges in P and A catalog about $140 less. I said it wouldnt match my fuel and voltmeter gauges. They said $500 for all new black gauges. I told them okay. Picked bike up this past Saturday, and couldnt believe it. These gauges look way better than stock (In my opinion)! Big difference in night time riding!
