14" is the max you really want to go with stock cables. The wires are fine as long as you remove them from the little plastic holder under the gauges. Some will tell you to use longer stuff at 14" because it is marginal. They will work, but may be tighter than some are comfortable with when turning, etc.

That video depicts a standard road glide. It will be ok. Just get some poly bushings for the risers.
