Default Driving Lights

For those of you who have added driving lights to your Rushmore touring bikes. How do you have them switched? If the lights are aligned to shoot down the road I would think you would want to be able to turn them off when oncoming traffic approaches. The auxiliary switches located next to the ignition switch are convenient from a wiring perspective but not that convenient while riding. Can you wire them into the high beam circuit to activate with the high beams?

Ideas? Experience?

If my recollection serves me there is a flash the dealer can do to have them on all the time or off on high beams.

Thanks for the responses. I was looking for info regarding driving lights added to a Rushmore Touring bike not the passing lights that come as original equipment.

Anybody??

I have added Combo driving lights on mine. I used the Skene 275 Alert Led light controller. It allows me to select multiple levels of intensity and only allows the LED Aux lights to go Full power when my High Beams are selected.

The current lamps I have the Baja Squadron Pro Combo's are 4900 Lumens per module and I have 2. I am replacing them with the XL80's and that will put 19000 Lumens on high beam.

I do not get flashed often since I have my low setting at 20% so I am only putting out around 980 Lumens per module.

Others use a rheostat that controls the light level when on low beams and allows full current on high beams as well. Depends on what system you are using and what features you want.

Do you have these mounted on the engine guard? I read about these and thought they sounded like a good setup

I am running Clearwater Darla's on the crash bar. They will let others know you are there as well as light up the road.

Yes, I have them on the front Crash bar.

I used the PIAA 360 Chrome mount https://www.twistedthrottle.com/piaa...in-1-25in-bars

Another option is the Denali mount https://www.twistedthrottle.com/dena...r-tubes-chrome

Are those Darla's mounted on the Harley brackets or another brand?
How did you wire the lights? Switch on the handlebars? Other?
