Default 103 stage 1 vs stage 2, what can I expect?

What are the real world results that I will see going from stock to either stage one or stage two? I am trying to decide on which to do to my bike. 16 RGS.

i can get head pipe intake and tuner with a mail order tune for $1250. Doing the work myself.

and the stage 2 from sort of local shop for $3500 turn key. Includes: cams, intake, head pipe, tuner, custom dyno tune and all misc parts and labor.

It's been said that the best bang for the buck is a stage two. Probably pretty true. Can you do the stage two work yourself and let them dyno it for you? Save a little money and get the better option.

Don’t overcam and have your bike tuned on a dyno, not a canned map.

Consider taking a look at Fuel Moto's 103 Twin Cam dyno chart webpage. You could also ask Scott at Hillside and Kirby on this forum. Pick a build that would be close to yours and see the possible gains between Stage 1 & 2.
As stated "Don’t over cam and have your bike tuned on a dyno, not a canned map". A engine combination designed to work together that targets your riding style will be a pleasure to ride. The smile will be endless.
Ultimately the decision is yours.

HO 103s run really strong with a good aftermarket stage 1. That's all I would recommend, and I would recommend getting that from Fuelmoto... especially the tune.

It seems like the bike makes high 70s hp and low 90s tq

stage 1 high 80s hp and 105ish tq
stage 2 mid 90s hp and low 1 teens tq

diminishing returns for real. Bang for buck seems to be stage 1 $1250 and get 12-15 hp and 15 ish tq stage 2 would be $2250 more and only add 7 ish more hp and 7ish more tq. I really gotta think on this. Maybe a stage 1 is better for now and if i keep bike longer leave myself more later.

HO 103s with a good stage 1 will be low to mid 90s and around 110 torque. Recommend looking at some charts; Fuelmoto has some good ones as do a few others.

I think a ventilator air cleaner with jackpot 2-1-2 and power vision is my course for this spring.

Who are Scott and Kirby and how can I find them on here? I got an 11 RKC w/8k miles shipped to me off of FB Marketplace. Bike has an SE Heavy Breather, VnH slash cut slip ons. Supposedly tuned at HD with said mods at HD in St Louis with a SE pro street tuner. Runs well but I want to change to VnH fishtails. The 103 makes plenty of power for me. I like the looks of the fishtails. Would Scott and/or Kirby be able to tell me if I need to now change to a power vision tuner or could I get away with just swapping out the slip ons and stay within the limits of the SE pro street tuner? Thanks much for any info.. Go Oilers btw

Scott and Kirby are two of the techs/owners at respected shops, with good reputations, on this and other HD forums.. They could answer your questions, as could any of the reputable shops often mentioned on this forum....

Scott is at Hillside Cycles (forum sponsoring vendor) in Munnsville, NY and Kirby at Vee Twin Racing in DeLand, FL.

Another forum sponsoring vendor, with a good presence on this forum, is FuelMoto.

I've done business with FuelMoto for years with parts, tuner, tunes , and had them install/tune a crate engine. I find Jaime's tunes to be top notch, and their customer service is excellent. I have not done any business with Hillside Cycles, but would not hesitate to do so....
