Default Cold engine stalling & hesitation during accel

Lately I’ve noticed, and it seems to be getting worse, that when I first start up my engine it runs rough and sometimes dies. I can’t just hop on it and go, it wants to stall if I do, and I have to let it warm up for a minute or two. I’m also feeling a slight hesitation on acceleration that didn’t use to be there. I’ve owned the bike for 2-1/2 years, a ‘19 SGS, that had around 3k miles on it when I bought it. It’s an HD 131 kit that was already installed when I got it.
The only things I’ve done to it related to the engine are, I changed plugs & wires last year after noticing that one of the wires had a bare spot rubbed in it caused by not being properly tied up ( I had the fuel tank off for a deep clean and detail/ceramic coat and decided to do the plugs as well since the tank was already off; I took the top plate/ring off, long story). I also swapped out the a.c., it had a Ventilator and I switched to a Heavy Breather Elite kit with a breather bypass already done, which I bought used on this site (cleaned & recharged a couple thousand miles ago by me).
It’s time for the bike’s 20k mile service, so I picked up my oils& filter yesterday. I was gonna grab a fuel filter but (of course) they didn’t have one in stock so it’s on order…I’ll do the service when the fuel filter gets here. In the meantime, I might swap back to my original a.c. just to eliminate the possibility that it is the cause of my problems. I’ll be looking for the simplest solutions first because I dont have any experience working on these engines and my scope is gonna be very limited, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
One more thing-I almost always buy gas at one of two places, who both sell non-ethanol 93 octane. The only time I don’t is when I’m out somewhere and very low on fuel. I will put a gallon in it from somewhere else, just enough to get me to one of my regular stations, or if I’m out on a long trip and have no idea where any non-ethanol stations are. This is my reasoning behind replacing the fuel filter, maybe it picked up some trash from running it too low.
Anyway, thanks for reading and for any help

By any chance does your throttle feel sticky/gritty when you twist it? Mine would stumble when cold, and it quit when I fixed the sticky grip. I don't understand how this would impact the operation of an electronic throttle, but it no longer stumbles when cold.

No it actually feels better now that I have changed grips, it seemed a little sloppy on my old grip. But I forgot to mention in my post that one of the salesman that I bullshit with at my local said something about resetting the throttle grip sensor. I don’t know what it entails or why it might be needed but I meant to google it and ask about it on here and see what I could find out.

The reset is certainly worth a try.

From Google, I did this a while ago.

To reset your idle setting back
turn the ignition switch on for 10 seconds off for 10 seconds (do not start the engine), repeat a total of 4 times. That should reset your original throttle position.

Thanks, I’m going to ride to work tomorrow so I’ll try the reset then. Anyone on here do a fuel filter on one of these bikes ? Any tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated, although it seems simple enough, and I do have a service manual.

I changed my fuel filter at 48k miles and it was pretty easy. The FSM shows a special tool to get the lock ring off as I recall, but I just used a brass drift and a hammer and it came right off.

702-I’ve had my tank off before and used the same method to get the ring off. Never done the filter though so I figured I’d ask…
