Default Can't find neutral 2023 M8 114

'I just bought a new Road Glide 3. I thought they claimed neutral was suppose to be easier to find on the M8s . I had a 2015 Limited Low Ultra hydraulic clutch and never had a problem.. This one is dam near impossible to find neutral sometimes. I wished they had left the hydraulic clutch alone. What's the deal. How to solve. And yes I have adjusted the back to the old days cable clutch. Another pain in the butt.

Get a heel shifter if you don’t have one. Bump it with your heel from first gear to get into neutral.

You don’t have to use the heel shifter for actual shifting otherwise, if you don’t want to.

I’ve had an M-8 with hydraulic clutch, and a new one with cable clutch. This is how I find neutral.

It's the gear between 1st and second.

I have a 2021 - heal toe shifter and don't have any difficulty. Click down to 1st and half click the heal shifter.

If you just bought a new bike and its not preforming up to your standards, let the dealer address the issue

My 22 SGS was a little difficult to put into neutral when new as well. It got noticeably easier after the 1k service, and now is very easy. Now the first tactile click is always neutral and 2nd requires a slightly firmer lift.

Compared to the other bikes I’ve had neutral has always been quirky, until I got used to it

What’s your mileage.May have an overfilled primary and/or clutch isn’t adjusted properly. They always shift better after the first fluid change, preferably aftermarket products like Spectro, etc.

It doesn't have anything to do with a clutch cable vs hydraulic system!

Give it a 1,000 miles. It'll get a lot easier to find neutral.

It doesn't always have to be the old school 1st gear lift up. Try 2nd gear push down a hair. After the 1st 1k service it gets better. Then go old school 1st gear hair up.

Finding Neutral on my 22 SG can sometimes take a couple of tries. It's got about 3K on it and it hasn't gotten any easier.
