This is why we have gloves.

Me too, you must be a fairing weather biker though. Even with a batwing I wear gloves, but again I am not a fair weather rider. Wow.

I am curious FLTs feel the fairing mounted the frame.

I guess all Road King riders only ride on warm sunny days?

I really never understood the "hands must be behind the faring" requirement of some riders, but as Smitty said - to each their own.

I started harleys with a road king, but went to faring. My point is I am wearing gloves with a fairing too, which gives you even more riding time.

Not going to say FLHRs are fair weather, but you don't see as many of them up here 90% of the bikes have fairings. I don't take mine out as much in bad weather.

My wife did not like the road glide at all. No matter what I tried for windshield she was always getting hammered with wind. I had my 94 set up so good she could hardly feel the wind. Probably much depends on where you ride too. Up here even when it’s nice it gets cold when the sun goes down. I guess I just really like the wind protection of the batwing vs road glide.

RG here. Tall bars. Stainless steel hand guards in case of birds and rocks.
The lower bars on my old EG caused severe discomfort and pain between my shoulder blades. I went to a taller bar and that went away. On the RG the factory bars were taller but I went higher. Helps keep my back straight and promotes better posture for me. My carpal tunnel does flair up some when riding. I experience that whenever I have to hold a position for a long time though. Even when I rode my Softail with pullback drag bars. I don't know if the bars exacerbate the issue, I haven't rode with stock height bars in over a decade at least.

I'm not a fair weather biker, rain, cold, just no ice.

It is rare I ride morning or evenings with a jacket. Chaps are in the bags all year.

That is something years ago that was discussed a lot. One buddy swears moving them back helps. I think truth to that, you are reaching forward, bringing stress to that area

My OL is always tells me to relax and pushes down on my shoulders.

Wrist angle was definitely a deciding factor of bars too. I need a straighter wrist angle not like the wheelbarrow handles on my old EG. That did seem to make a difference with the carpal tunnel.

I tried moving the stock EG bars. Can't remember getting any relief. I feel cramped on an EG. Moving the bars back I felt like a lazy boy.
