At the Durango Harley Davidson, I took it for a test ride. I decided to buy it. After signing on the dotted line we went out to the Harley. With 3 employees none of us could find the FOB. We checked each compartment and saddle bags several times. Then the salesman said this is an Ultra, it doesn't have a FOB. You have to use the key. Every time I arrive anywhere I have to get out my key and lock the fork to the side and the ignition. That was a big disappointment. Those FOBs have spoiled me. They are so convenient to just hop on an ride off.
Now my question, is there anyway to retrofit the security module and FOBs onto my Electra Glide?
Money says it has security. Needs to be activated. I had a '15 Ultra. It came with security.
They're screwing with you with bs.
If it has security unlocking the ignition with the key isn't enough. I've been there. I rode off without my fob. The fob was nearby but not on me. When I got to the gas station without my fob I had to put in a code to start the engine.
From the little research I just did, it looks like the smart security system was an option on the 2018 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. You would need to purchase and install the H-D Smart Security System, then have the dealer activate the key fobs.

Yes you can get the security system installed on a motorcycle that wasn't originally equipped with one. Installation looks pretty simple, but you will need the dealer to activate the key fobs and pair them to your bike.
The security system itself is $400 and comes with two key fobs plus the security module: https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/h-d-smart-security-system/p/41000087G

I looked into adding on my 2017. Total would be about $1000. Decided to pass....
Wow, who was going to rob you at that price??
The security system cost $399.95... They were going to charge you over $500 just to install and activate it with the digital tech 2....????
FWIW... there are other tools, like the TechnoResearch Centurion Pro that can add the new BCM with the alarm to your bike, and also add the FOBs to the security system... You don't NEED a dealer to do it.
Find a friend or an Independent shop with one and they can probably do it for a lot less...
