Exclamation Battery

What's the trick to getting to the battery screws?
I want to put a Gerbing harness on.
I know where they are, what is the best way to loosen the positive term under the cover
Sorry, I haven't got a manual yet and I'm going on a trip soon any advise would really be appreciated.

It might be in your owners manual.

take off the seat, then you will see a plastic panel looking thing that is held on with two screws towards the rear of the bike. take out the two screws, the front of that thing is held by a retainer, just push down on the front to disengage the retainer lock. you will see lots of elec stuff on the panel, have no fear, there is slack in everything so you can move it out of the way and access the battery that is below it. hope this helps.

Don't see what bike you have but the Limited's (not sure with the SG's or UC's) come with a Battery Tender connection on the left side, my Gerbings vest either has that same connection or I bought an adapter to fit, can't remember which. That might be easier than what you want to do...

Yep, I plug my heated jacket liner right into the battery tender lead on the left side.

it's a 2014 Street Glide and it has the battery tender lead too.
Did you change the fuse to a 15 amp?
I ask the dealer and he said I probably shouldn't use that because of the new bus wiring design. He didn't seem that sure though.

Hey thanks for the responses!

No fuse change. No issues with my vest. Do a search, there was a lager discussion of where this new lead is attached to, fuse etc.

I had to unplug the harnesses on top. Use a small screwdriver to push in on the tabs that hold the plugs to the plate. You can use something like a crown royal bag to slide the ecm into so it won't scratch your bike while hanging to the side. Make sure you have your FOB on you so the bike doesn't think someone is trying to steal it when unhooking the battery.
