Cycle- nope, if I choose trip the only thing that appears is "new". I am thinking the memory is clearing after the ignition gets turned off?

AW Snap - where are you located? I am in Michigan. Please send me an e-mail - cycle7447@aol.com and if you like, provide your phone number - or I can give you mine.

This way, we can talk on the phone while at our bikes - and I can try to help (if you like).

Just sounds odd that your bike - and three at your dealership are not performing correctly.

The starting location, the ending location and each waypoint are counted toward the maximum of 9 waypoints. The documentation says a max of 18 routes. This is really not an issue as you can store thousands of routes on the flash drive and move them to and delete them from the GPS as needed.

I am not too concerned with the trips or the routes. What I am really trying to do is import the waypoints and save them to the bike. Say my group is planning to head West next weekend. I will research 5 or 10 places to stop in no particular order in 60 to 100 miles West of us. Then when we are ready to stop I can pull up the saved places and say we will go here first. When we leave location 1 we can go into the saved places and choose our next location in no particular order. The trip will have each destination planned based on the route you determined when creating the ride. Currently the way points are not saving and either are the trips.

I tried that too but when I turn the bike off everything except the home location is cleared from the system.... No recents, no saved, no trips ect.

Go to Ride Planner and start a route, mark each of the points you want to visit as locations (you can also name the locations, after you name them be sure to key the save command next to the input box). You should wind up with a route made up of only locations and you can have more than 9. Transfer this route to your flash drive and import into the bike. When the bike ask you what you want to save DO NOT SELECT THE ROUTE, instead select only the individual locations that you marked. After you have completed this process you will find the locations in your saved file. Lol

Cycle, Thanks again for the help. This process was the same as all my previous attempts and the weird thing is even the save locations that disappeared yesterday were back today? The only difference was I would plug the thumb drive in before I powered up the bike. When you talked me through I plugged the thumb drive in once the NAV loaded. While it seems insignificant, that small change may be the difference. I don't know but this thumb drive also seems to work better then my other drive?

EMU - that is exactly the process I was doing but if the process did not fail and time out when I powered the bike down and removed the thumb drive the save list would load empty.

Thanks again for all your help!

AW Snap - was good to talk with you - and glad that we were able to walk you through this and it worked.

Hey - what a way to meet new friends - so, if ever biking in the Michigan area, let me know - who knows, perhaps we can ride a little together.

See you on the road.

I typically tend to ride west, getting around the lake is always a PIA with all the construction but next time I am heading that direction I will send you a message and we can meet up! P.S. I did have similar issues last night where the routes would import but not save. I found if I start the route before I turn off the bike it works every time! Now I just need to figure out how to delete trips from the list, I have 6 test trips stored in the bike.
