Default Steering lock key

I have my new Ultra Limited in the garage after having it delivered last week. I posted a question as part of another thread and received a great explanation on how the lock itself works.

The problem is that I cannot remove the key from the lock after I have locked the steering. I have tried both keys that came with the bike and they work fine in all the other locks.

But on the steering lock you can insert the key to lock it but when you turn the lock to unlock the key will not pull out, it is firmly stuck. I have not yet ridden the bike and am concerned that I might not get the steering lock off.

Has anyone else had this type of issue. I wonder if putting some light lubricant in the lock might help.

Thanks for any advice.

Do you have the front wheel turned to the Left while locking and are you pushing down & turning the lock? If so, and it's not functioning properly...call the dealer so they can take a look. Why mess with it on a new bike, when it's covered under your warranty plan...JMO.

try backing off just a hair and make sure the slots are lining up when you pull out the key
