Default 14 limited handling issue update

Hey guys,
Just a quick update, the dealer said every single thing was checked and bike was ridden by several people and they say it handles as it should ( BS) I have ridden not only for 30+ years I have raced dirt and street, I know its not right, anyhow, I called MOCO and started a claim ticket so I will give them a little longer, if it still is not resolved I will break out the picket signs and file a claim under the lemon law!!!

I am looking for anyone that rides a 2014 limited and lives in the San Angelo Texas area that is willing to ride my bike and if it does not handle the same as theirs, be willing to testify to that fact in court if it comes to that, at this point they say nothing is wrong I need to get eye witness to prove my case!!!!

I am going to start another thread asking for riders to help!!

Thanks

Wojo

What are you feeling? I own a 14 limited and it's the best handling Harley I have owned.

Is this your first Harley? No offense, just asking. Have you gone to a second dealership for a second opinion?

You mentioned picketing the dealer. Again no offense, but that makes me wonder if you deep down have buyer's remorse and looking for a way out? I have seen a lot of that in the car business. If your bike is found to have a issue, I apologize in advance for wondering.

At delivery, I found the front end felt a bit remote compared to the '13 I traded off; but for the most part that was sorted when I filled the front tire to the specified pressure (dealer delivered several PSI low - go figure). I'm with Scottt, this is the best handling bagger I've ever had.

Best of luck; I hope you reach a happy outcome...

No offense taken, to answer a few of your questions, it feels different at different times, very squirmy, feels light in the front end, tracks very bad, ride is very rough, in corners, it wants to stand up like if your applying your brakes, it feels like the engine shifts to the side at times.

It was the best handling Harley I have ever rode for the first 300 miles, after that it has gotten unbearable.

No this is not first Harley, I currently have 3, 2104 limited, 2005 ultra, 2009 ultra and have owned several more in the past, have had 13 Harleys, 3 Kawasaki's 1 Honda and 2 bmw's

Yes 2 dealers 3 different times.

I mention picketing because the squeaking wheel gets the grease and when I have ridden the same make and model bike that has no issues and handles 10 times better than mine something is not right!!!

I have also had another 2014 limited rider ride mine and he says he wouldn't ride it again, he has 30 years on Harleys as well, his handles like a dream!!!

I remember riding with a guy on an old FL who described almost the exact problems you're having (especially the bike standing up in corners). His ended up being a bad swing-arm bushing. He replaced it and the bike was good as new.

I know there's a lot of things that can affect the ride especially on the front end, but if I was having the issues you're describing I think I'd start with replacing that bushing, or at least looking at it really hard.

Damn.. with your experience and ownership of multiple bikes I feel like your bike needs to be exchanged or at least 'fixed'. Sounds dangerous to me. Also sounds like the swingarm or bad tires. These bike handle well so something is wrong.

If you can jack the bike up, see how the steering head bearings feel by turning the bars back and forth, check for any play by trying to move the bars front to back as hard as you can. If you find nothing here I would undo the rear shocks and see how the swing-arm moves in relationship to the frame, should be smooth, again check for play. As you jack the bike up pay attention to the front shocks and how they react as the weight of the bike comes on and off them. I know the dealer should have tried these things but you will be sure these things are good if you do it yourself. I have ridden my Buddy's 14 SGS it was rock solid don't take "its all right" for an answer.

Thanks for understanding. Hope this gets sorted soon. I would try a third dealer if more are close to you. You might even consider having a independent shop test riding. If they fill out a report showing a issue you will have a professional opinion, Harley would have no choice if its documented. You might also consider reporting to the federal vehicle safety web site. Your state department of motor vehicles as well. Best to you.

I have a 2010 street glide with progressive suspension and a 2014 limited. The 14 is amazing! I would jack the bike up and look at things like the rear wheel adjustment cams making sure they are both touching the notch on the swing arm, also check all mounting bolts to be tight (critical fasteners ). I'm sure something is wrong they are amazing .....GOOD LUCK

Wojo, I thought replacing the tire fixed everything? What happened?
