I installed mine last weekend, only got to use it twice. I'm using the Auto Tune mode now. It's learning from the bikes sensors and populating the chart map. I installed the SE stage 1 air cleaner at the same time. The bike definitely has better throttle response. I downloaded a base map first and then used the Auto Tune and got home and flashed the ecm after 80 miles, then again after 85 miles. From the start, my bike was fine with the base map no popping on decel and much better throttle response. I've got 4" Rineharts and SE stage 1 AC. There was no map for my setup. The base map worked perfect. The sensor data and the ability to view the info to my smart phone is a great idea. Please note, the security light on the speedo will be flashing on and off due to the FP3 learning in Auto Tune mode. Looking forward to put more miles on, but it's a weekend rain washout here in Jersey.

Quick question for you regarding the auto tune mode? When in auto tune mode is the bike actually being tuned or is the fp3 just collecting data for a reflash at a later time. Thanks

The FP3 is learning and storing a custom map in the Auto Tune mode. You have to reflash via bluetooth when you feel there is enough data and learned cells on your latest custom map.
I am also very interested in buying this tuner. Few questions...what do you do with the unit while in auto tune mode? Do you just have it hanging by the connector or is there room in the side panel for you to store it in there and replace the cover? I am assuming you have the app on your phone running at the same time. Do I have to use my android phone (Motorola Razr Maxx ice cream sandwich) or can I use my tablet running android honeycomb?

Thanks for your help!
There is room in the side panel. I just zipped tied it in. I have an Android Samsung S4 phone. I put the phone in a xgrip ram mount on the bars to view the readings. Simple just open the FP3 app on your phone and you can setup the app. I believe most smart phones are compatible? I didn't try my tablet with it yet. Phone for me is the easiest.
I spoke with Vance & Hines support on the phone about the FP3. Here is what I learned.
1) The FP3 marries to your VIN the first time you flash your bike. From that point on this is the only bike the FP3 will work on.
2) Every time you flash your bike the flash settings are sent back to Vance & Hines where it is stored in a database.
3) The FP3 has six memory slots for saving six different flashes.
4) It also has one read only memory slot (0) which the FP3 reads the bike original settings and copies them into the memory slot (0). This way you can always flash back to the bikes original settings.
5) The first flash must be something you download form Vance & Hines
6) Auto Tune: After the first flash you can use Auto Tune. Once Auto tune is envoked it asks which flash to use. It will flash the bike again with the selected flash and go into Auto Tune mode where it populates a table as it is learning your bike and riding style. Their is a lighting bolt in upper right corner of screen. When tapped, will ask if you want to incrimentally flash the bike and continue Auto Tuning or flash bike and finish Auto Tuning.
I'm not an expert but this is the extent of what I think I know so far.
Thanks. This is the best info on this that I've seen yet.
My FP3 is "out for delivery" with USPS, should have it tonight. This helps me with what to expect.
I chose this because I believe it will allow me to put on the air cleaner and tune the bike, then save for my exhaust, and tune the bike again. Sounds easy to use and quite versatile, I hope it lives up to its descriptions.
