So, I flashed my SG with the FP3 using a canned map. I originally thought they would have a bunch of different configs available, but found that there was only three exhaust manufactures (none of which were Reinhart)...and there was no intake section on the app to tell it that I had a high flow filter. Nonetheless, it worked, and it was noticeably stronger. Ran great. So, installed high flow filter, and tried the Auto Tune feature. Here's where things went south: I rode for about 20 minutes and pulled over to flash the ECU. It asked me to turn the engine off, but when I did, the Bluetooth disconnected. Now, the Bluetooth won't reconnect. It says that the device is "not supported."
I tried starting from scratch and the FuelPak is not flashing a single LED slowly, like the directions say it should on start up. The lights are flashing randomly and rapidly, and it will not hookup to my phone on Bluetooth.
Bike runs strong, but I'm worried that it hasn't tuned itself for the air fliter and that I'll be lean. Anyone else having issues with their FP3 FuelPak?
OK thanks Mike....I'll be calling V&H tomorrow and see if I can get to the bottom of all this. At this point the FP3 and my phone will not communicate and I'm concerned about this upcoming road trip without knowing exactly what map is running. But thanks again for the info.
I just had FP3 installed and spoke with corporate rep at Bike Week while it was being configured and he said their maps all assume intake and no need to select one to configure the map. I used VH pipes so need to auto tune for me. At least not yet.
I did not have a connection issue but did have a starter issue.
Only while in auto tune, the bike starter did not engage consistantly. Some times I would have to hit the starter button three or four time before the starter would engage. When I stopped auto tune the issue when away. Couple days latter when I started auto tune again the issue reappeared until I finished auto tune.
I find it best to use a tablet for the app. The reason for this in my case is that every time my phone will automatically try to connect to the the bikes 6.5 infotainment and the FP3 at the same time causing confusion for bluetooth. I would delete the pairing on the infotainment with your phone until the auto tune is completed, then repair the phone to the infotainment and all should be good.
