I agree with others, either your fuse or a faulty controller. I have a direct fused connection to the battery for my clothing and the wife has the same for hers. Plus the heated seat. To get any kind of a riding season in Canada, you have to turn them all on - no issues with battery.

I just picked up a 12v Gerbings adapter plug for my heated gear. Plugged it into the 12v receptacle on the fairing and hooked up all my clothes. Everything heated up but that plug sure gets hot. Way easier than removing the seats, running the wiring and then having a pigtail dangling by your leg. Still, I'm wondering if anyone else has run this setup and if so any problems? Kind of concerned how hot that 12v plug got.

Shep68 if its the cigarette lighter 12v receptacle you are referring to I think I'd consider a different option. Especially if it is getting that hot. Uncertain about the 2014 but on my 08 the manual says:

"The recepticle is not intended as a port for electrical devices. Damage to lighter receptacle may occur".

Just following up on this. Checked the owners manual and it says that the receptacle IS for electrical devices (does not list any restrictions). I've got the full heated gear so it is drawing max current. Have to wait for next fall to properly test and diagnose. I'll be keeping a close eye once I start using the gear again.
