Has anyone used the Gerbings battery operated heated vest or gloves ? Curious as to how warm it gets. It would be nice not to run more wires on the bike.
Have Gerbrings heated gloves and vest only 1 cable plug from battery.Have used them for 3 years on the same battery and no problems yet.O AND DID I SAY I LOVE THEM.......
They have a new vest and gloves that comes with a rechargable battery. Just wondering if it worked as good as the electric onesor close. The vest is only 99.00 but gloves are expensive. Just seems easier then having to plug into the bike every time I get on or off.
There is no way the rechargeable ones have much of a life. We took just our jacket liners and a 60lb deep cycle battery with us to a race. We ran two jacket liners on the half way setting on the thermostat. The battery lasted about 3.5 hours.
Why fool with rechargeable on a bike? Just put the harness on your battery.

I have the jacket and gloves..they are worth every penny. you stay very warm and your hands remain nimble.
The touring bikes put out about 750 watts at 3600 rpm, way more than enough, don't worry about your battery.
All you need is a line off the battery ( provided ) that you place so the tip comes out by the edge of your seat on the left side. I use an adapter for my battery tender tip that lets me charge during the winter if I want thru the same connection.
