Well Mine too...... Pointed it out to the dealer they siliconed it better but short term.
Hmmmm? I would think using silicone on the cap threads could possible let some silicone get into the gas and ruin the O2 sensors. Silicone is not good for O2 sensors.

this is what i thought also. at best it would only work for about one fill up. why didn't nthey just hand him a new cap?
The dealer would have actually provided the biker a permanent fix, if they handed him a file.
Oh no! That would NEVER do!
The MOCO will almost certainly come out with a "Fuel Cap Upgrade Unit" (file) for $69.99 and be just pleased as punch to sell you one - sorta like the shock pump they provide (for a reasonable price, a'course) for the bikes they sell with no way to check the air-shock pressure or to pump them up.
They'll be offering the "Super Deluxe" version for $149.99 for the CVO bikes starting next year.
I just fcukin' can't wait!

"Super Deluxe" version for $149.99 ... Ya right! ... How long have you been riding? You should know by now that any "Super Deluxe" version of the highly engineered accouterments for the H.D. start at $209.95 ... Silly boy. :>)

Uh... my Vulcan back in the day had air shocks too. Didn't come with a pump or a way to check the pressure. I bought the "Progressive" air pump that is basically the HD branded pump for the same price as the HD one.

Dammit! Guess I'm outa touch with current trends at the MOCO!

Jes' sayin'.
Did that Vulcan cost $27,500+? If so, then I would kinda think it should have come with a pump too.
