You guys ever have the upper pins that hold the saddle bags in place come loose? I have found them laying in the saddle bag a couple of times and have now tie wrapped them in place so that they can not work loose from vibration.
As a matter of fact mine came loose yesterday while out for a ride but I'm sure it was my fault because I had the bags off to clean behind them, I had trouble getting one pin to lock and that's the one that came loose.
Had one of mine fall out once as well. I just slid the bag forward as much as I could and still be able to put the pin in. It puts a little force against the pin and it's been perfect since.

The whole pin mounting system sucks but if you get them in correctly, they will not fall out. Don't force the pin in. When positioned correctly, a simple 1/4 turn will lock it in place. If it takes more than that, keep repositioning it until it easily locks in place. Never bang it in.
When Im out riding the High Desert with my OL on the back, passing a line of autos and looking down at the speedo, its doing 100+. Last thing I need is a bag flying off. I put Brukus screws on and no more worries. I never had one of the MOCO retainers come loose but they never gave me a warm fuzzy feeling like the Brukus does.
I always used these, with a couple of stainless fender washers and a few rubber fender washers.
Problem now is with the new system, I can't hold them in place whilst I put the pin in.
Proper length, of course...
But I will find a way... I've been a Frac'er for 19 years, I'll make it happen, by God, and I'll put up pics when I do.
:-)

I removed the stock pins/clips and took a trip to Ace Hardware and added new hex head screws/clips. all for around $7. no chance to fall out or stolen (quickly)
