Default Security Pager

Well I bought the Battery powered security pager (91660-06) and now I find out it won't work with the 14 CVO Limited even when the Harley website clearly says it will work, the dealer had to call their tech support and we find out the CVO doesn't have the correct siren to match the pager, SMS signal is not right, well it can be fixed by buying the $105 siren and have it installed to make it work, no thanks, guess I'll take it back. My question is why would they skimp on the CVO model siren and not note it in the compatibility chart??

I knew the CVO came with the Security System as standard, but I didn't know they included the optional Smart Siren. Are you saying you get an audible siren if you move your bike without the FOB?

The Pager gets its signal from the optional Smart Siren, not the standard Security System. If the CVO has a Siren included that isn't compatible with the Smart Siren II that is messed up. If the CVO doesn't come with a Siren, then your dealer messed up when they didn't tell you the Pager you were ordering required the Smart Siren II.

I don't know if the CVO comes with the siren but THAT is where the pager module is NOT in the security system. My Limited came with security but the audible siren (and pager module) are optional. Once you have the siren with pager module installed, you can then use the even more optional pager.

BTW, I went with the rechargeable pager and love it. Great piece of mind knowing that no one is messing with my bike when it's out of sight.

The way the dealer explained it to me was that the CVO has a siren that does go off if you move the bike without the fob around but the Pager uses SMS signal that this cheaper siren on the CVO does not use. Now they tried to marry this pager to my bike but it would not work, even though on the website it lists the Ultra Limited CVO as working. They tried to marry the pager to a 13 and it worked. So that's when they said they will call tech support to see why it won't work, I feel like they should give me the better siren so the pager will work as advertised. I just hate to spend the $94.95 for the siren (68328-06A) in addition to the $74.95 for the Pager (91660-06) but I'm not going to hold my breath, cause I don't think it will happen. This is a first for me to learn that they skimped on a part for a CVO.

Are you sure that your CVO has a siren at all? Have you heard it make noise? HD only makes one siren part # that fits the Touring bikes (CVO included) and that includes the pager module.

OK, I called Milwaukee today to discuss the Pager, well they told me that all US made bikes with a security system do not leave the factory with a siren, only bikes for Europe have a siren because it is a law over there. If you buy a pager you must buy the Smart Siren II or it will not work. I told them it is misleading that on the website it says it will work on the 2014 Ultra CVO, it doesn't say you have to buy the siren. Now the part that upsets me is that on the CVO's they do give you a siren from the factory, it does work and makes all kinds of noise, but it is not a Smart Siren II so it will not work with the pager, unless you change it to a Smart Siren II. Another $95 on top of the Pager price for a $40,000 bike.

Wow that's confusing!

So all US bikes, EXCEPT CVO's, leave the factory with no siren? And the CVO's include a siren that is NOT the smart siren II?

Well sounds like you need to do what I did for my "lowly" Limited; buy the Smart Siren II and a pager.
