Default LED Headlight question

I just received my black LED headlight and I'm going to install on a '14 SGS.
The Service Manual and the instructions talks about pulling the main fuse.
Is this really necessary or are they CYA?

CYA. I usually skip that step. Though there are some that will say to always do that.

Good Safety practice. Not absolutely necessary.

Its a CYA. I've removed plenty of electrical parts on bikes before and never needed to pull as long as the ignition was off. The lawyers make them say that.

Not trying to be a ***** here by jumping in on this one, but having owned both Daymakers, I would go with the Reflector if you don't need black. Just my 2 cents.

Get the TruckLite Phase 7 (reflector style) for the black look. A lot less money and much better light.
