I am pretty technology savvy. I have figure out everything with the system but these three things.
1. How do I clear out the favorites that are already there.
2. How do I get it to default to the last music source, (like with the old radio it would start playing were it left off on cd)
3. Can you setup the GPS to tell you the actual destination you arrived at and on left or right, instead of saying you are at the location.
example I forgot the actual address I was going to so when it said I was there I was like what was the address cause I couldnt remember. Guess I am just used to my Garmin?

2. Good luck on that one. This system still has a lot of bugs in it. hopefully HD will update soon. Until then expect the radio to do whatever it wants to do. Including turning itself on and off.
I haven't figured out the second one on mine either. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Like Hojones said, hopefully a software upgrade will fix it. Not a big whoop, but it would be nice.
That's the whole reason why I don't understand the b*tch about it being a piece of junk. It can always be fixed by firmware or software upgrade so the possibility of it being an amazing head unit is endless as long as they do there part in getting it done. I do however understand it should work from the start, that's what we paid for.
3-no. Would be nice if the destination flag was on the left or right of street, but sadly it's always shown on left.
My habit is now pay attention to street number that will display after last turn, and quickly look at real life addresses if left or right side of street is odd/even

I agree that it should work from the start but I really did not think it would be glitch free. I did think / hope that HD would address the problems much quicker. I don't feel that 2 updates in 9 months shows that the motor company is making a honest effort to correct problems. It's really more like 1 update in 9 months since the first update was dated 8/2013 when the bikes were just being released to the public. The highly touted Infotainment center is a huge disappointment and all I wanted was a FM radio that got decent reception.

I read your post and I was cleaning the house and thinking about this. I 100% agree.
I feel that a there are a few things Harley could do,
1. Make it so owners can register for the updates instead of having to check the website or rely on dealers.
2. They should either open an online forum or some sort of line of communication between the owners and themselves putting actual engineers in contact with the people who are actually using the product, so that we can provide feedback on problems that we find as well as ideas for improvement, like the few mentioned above.
I feel that if this were done, and they took the proper steps from the feedback they received, they could have an extremely good and competitive product instead of what it is now.
I have some other thoughts I want to get off my chest...Let me start out by saying I am by no means a salesman or marketing professional. I am an HVAC controls and service technician.
That being said, I feel like Harley is really good and somethings. I give them credit on the full redesign, I bought and ultra cause they got rid of and improved a lot of things that kept me from having an ultra before. Other things I feel like they do not fall flat on but I feel like its a good enough attitude.I do not know weather they have the right people in place to spear head the projects are if it is some kind of marketing strategy. In my opinion your profit would go up if you are the total package not just partial.
I am very detail oriented. A few examples of what I am thinking about other than the infotainment would be the chrome products, control housings and especially they lowers. The machining is not even cleaned up on these products, in some places the chrome looks like sh*t. Chrome lowers are not even cleaned up on the inside of the legs? WTF?
Recently I got asked by a friend to come clean a air conditioner condenser. So does that mean that is all I actually do? No I check the evaporator, the air filter, the blower motor and the refrigerant charge to make sure it is function properly. I am huge about customer service personally.
My point being you do a complete and thorough job, with anything no what profession you are in.
Thats just my opinion I guess. I am not here to whine just offer up my opinion not that anyone wants to hear it. Thanks for reading you just wasted part of your life on my ramblings, and I wasted part of my life sitting down to write it.
