Finally moved up from my 2003 Deuce and into the touring bike we've been wanting. 2014 Road King in black came home on Sat and loving it so far. Only mods out the door were 4 point docking hardware, passenger backrest / pad, SE slip ons / tips. Keeping things simple to start.
Any suggestions from the group on getting started with my first touring bike?
The ride is sure sweet and the new bar position works MUCH better for me than the older one I test rode so thinking I'll be pretty happy with this bike.
Welcome to the touring family
Road King is the King of the Road, ride it stock for the first year if you can, you can change
the wind shield to suite your riding style and comfort for you and your passenger. Long
Ride Shields & Fast Aire make good Shields, and are good to deal with.
Enjoy the new bike. I love my Freedom shield, it is thicker and a little wider than stock and has the air flip top, best purchase I've made for the RK.

Kuryakyn ISO grips and Kurykyn Longhorn highway pegs. I also like the HD saddlebag liners to stop stuff from rattling back in there.
