I went through the menus last night and I rode to work this morning and noticed nothing new. I was one of the few fairly satisfied with the 6.5 with 1.17.4.
There was a section in the Bluetooth called Ringtones - was that there before?
I wasn't expecting anything new, just fixes for some of the things that weren't working right. I did download the 2015 Boom Owner's manual and the do explain some things better in it than the 2014 version.

So many thanks for the idea of looking at the 2015 manual. Such better explanations of things like the nav system. All this time I thought my compass was wrong only to find out its a directional indicator when the map is showing, not a compass. DUH.
I am overall pretty satisfied with the infotainment system in the bike. It could probably do more but it is at least equal or better than the system in my Mustang.
I do have one complaint though. I like the GPS trip summary but for reason if I don't follow the route exactly the way the GPS wants me to it resets everything to zero. My Zumo didn't do this. Is there a way stop the reset?

LOL. I gave up trying to explain that to people complaining that their compass was always wrong.
All this functionality is overshadowed, however, by the Avic-D3's single disc slot, which makes for a continually cumbersome user experience when switching between navigation and media function
A decent unit, but still quite a few bugs to be worked out. Pioneer has just released a software/map update that supposedly is going to fix a lot of the lingering issues, however, because it also contains a map update (which I don't need-my unit is less than five months old), Pioneer is forcing us to spend another $60 to get this update (which should have been free and available separately from the map update). Bad business on Pioneer's part. I won't buy from them again
off brand GPS units always seem to have quirks.
i get your complaints, but after wanting to take a hammer and smash that D3 out of my dash, i can live with the minor quirks of this unit.
as long as HD pays for software upgrades, it should get progressively better, until it is orphaned, then it is...what it is...and it wont ever change
