I've got a 2014 FLHTK, with a Boom Box problem a few of you are also having. After the bike sits and you start it up it doesn't always return To section of the stereo you were last listing to, in my case it goes from listening to music through the USB port, then after sitting, and on restart, it goes to the weather station. I have read alot of threads on here about the same problem, but no real fixes. Has anyone here had the same problem, and found a fix. My bike does have the 1.17.5 So0ftware.
Thanks in Advance

1 turn on the radio 2 bring up the map 3 press and hold the fav. button untill the fav menu comes up 4 select what you want the radio to default to for example weather/radio/usb-media then when you go to start the bike wait fot the music to start then start the bike. so far its been working for me and a buddy of mine
Not sure about always having the re-start setting defaulting to whatever you like, but, I do know how to stop it from going to the weather band by itself...
You have to uncheck the option for WB alerts.
Not only does it cut in every time there is an alert (seems to be constantly here in Iowa), but if there was an alert since your last shutdown, it has to go there on startup as well.
Worked for me, WB has not cut in by itself once since changing that setting months ago.
I bought my ULTRA LIMITED in March 2014 , sometimes the volume control won't work. I did soft ware update when it was new and again when I got it out of storage on April 4 this year . Today out riding the problem still exists, anyone having this problem know a fix ? I have coworkers 2 of them that have the same year I have one of them has a c v o and they have had the same problem I have . They haven't taken there's to the dealer yet before I take mine I wanted to see if anyone knows anything about this .

I have that problem ,also. It happened new 11-2013 and it still does that with new update.1.18.3.It is very sporadic.May not happen for months, then it may do it twice in a week.
I also have the volume problem. The dealer will tell you to shut the bike off and restart it...essentially a reboot. Is it a solution to the problem, no, but it seems to work in most cases.

I found an easier solution in this forum on the volume problem.
After start up, go to Home, then Set Up.
Go to Audio, then AVC
Toggle it to off then full on
Done
I turned weather alerts off, no more WB start ups.
I set a playlist from my iPod to #5 on favorites, if my bike starts up in radio mode all I need to do is select #5 and my iPod starts right back up, as easy as changing a radio station.
I don't need to go thru the steps of left button select media highlight media select iPod look for play list highlight.
Wow now that I right this I am going to try and use multiple play list on favorites.
