It will display text and has since the day I bought it a year ago but it will not send the auto text.
Do your texts show up with the text on the screen when you get them or do you have to go into the inbox to view them? I'm only getting the little icon at the bottom when a new one shows up.
I've always only gotten the icon. You have to go over to the Inbox to see them and have them read to you. I wish you could create a favorite or a shortcut or even touch the icon to go right to the SMS inbox.
Auto reply under the current iOS is not available. It's a matter of Apple allowing a 3rd party to push/create new text messages to it. I'm hoping that with iOS 8 that it might work as Apple has indicated they want to integrate more with outside manufacturers to allow such things. I have a friend with the beta but we haven't gotten around to trying it out yet.

Or just pop up a notification with a button to read it to you so all you have to do is hit the accept button.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that they still don't allow it. It prevents rogue apps from using it to send text spam.
