Does anyone else despise the shift linkage as much as I do? The shifter arm is chrome, the transmission arm is black and the linkage is not chrome, not black but grayish?
I just replaced my shift lever with black and my shift linkage with brass, so I have these parts left over. Maybe they would give you a more consistent look? If you want 'em, just send me a PM.
I just looked at some pics of the Heritage and it looks like you already have the same parts as I do. If you want to change to all-black, that's fairly easily done; Harley offers many black shift linkage rods and aftermarket companies offer bazillions of them. The actual shift lever is the tricky part; you'd need to order part #33900179, the black shift lever from the 2016/2017 CVO Pro Street Breakout. It'll work, but if your Heritage is like my Fat Bob (and I think they're using the same parts) then you'll have a little bit of a spacing issue, which can be resolved by picking up a 1/2" rubber grommet or an AR15 crush washer and using those instead of the spacer that comes off the shift rod.
I got the 33900179 from Surdyke for something like $35 or so. The local dealer doesn't stock it and they wanted $90 to special-order it.
Things are coming together for riding season, can't come soon enough. Backrest with touring pad and passenger sundowner seat. Tour pac with stock passenger seat, sundowner passenger pillion raises seat just little past flap on tour pac and actually looks better. 17in Freedom shield dark tint. The JES WindDeflectors shipped yesterday. Will probably get the Mustache engine guard. Planning on leaving exhaust stock for now. Needing Harley to come out with passenger floor boards.

Was there any issues mounting the touring backrest pad? Does it still use the same attachment as the Heritage backrest pad? I'm really interested.

Love the way the tour pak looks on the new Heritage
I guess there isn't enough to dicuss about these '18 Heritage's so this thread gets buried further and further down the prioity list. Thought there would be a lot more goings on to keep it up top.
Just FYI. After almost three months off my new Cherry because I needed back surgery for a herniated disc, I was able to get out and ride the last two days. Short ride on Saturday, a little longer yesterday and going out again today to build up my endurance. Feels so good
The good part is that the mods I made while I was laid up (Fangs and Freedom Sheild) to help with Buffeting did the trick. I also pulled my handlebars back about 4" and now this vertically challanged rider can reach the controls much more comfortably and have a lot more control. And the INNOVV K-1 camera system I installed works great. And, almost forgot, the heel shifter I added is great even though I had to have it Powder Coated because H-D dosen't offer it in black.
Thanks to all for the reading material while I wasn't able to ride and was bored to death. Lots of great information...lets see if we can't keep this thread up near the top.

Reason: fixed paragraph
One thing that would keep this thread near the top is if H-D (and others) would start coming up with more parts. I'm still waiting for passenger floorboard mounts, better seat options, fairing options, speedometer options, etc.. And for those of us not down in Florida the darn cold weather is surely a spoiler for getting on the bike.
