The OEM passenger pegs can be a PTIA to take off. You need the correct good qaulity torx head bit and an air hammer driver to get the bolt out. Mine came out the hard way because I messed up the bolt heads...had to be drilled out.
Bike running like crap...could not figure out why...my story.
Over the last four to five hundred miles my Cherry started to run like crap getting progressively worse as time went by. It was hard to explain the symptoms. I have Rinehart Slip-ons that are fairly loud normaly but now the sound seemed to be amplified significantly. And, I could feel the pulse of the engine in my butt and there was a lot more vibration overall. Very unusual as it was normally very smooth. Another sign was my MPG had dropped dramaticly.
Decided it needed to go into the dealer for a check-up. Made an appointment for a diagnostic check but got a lot of condesending type comments and questions from the service rep before he would make the appointment and then stated it was going to cost $115. He kind of made me feel like I was stupid or imagining what I was feeling as it was hard to expain.
After taking into the back, in less than an hour they said they found my "Twist Throttle Sensor" was not functioning properly and it was making the engine run very rich. Of course they did not have the part in stock and had to order it. Took a week to come in and they installed it in about a hour. Now the bike was runnig good again and the rep was a nice as he could be. Great that all was covered under warenty.
I'm not complaining too much about the service at my dealer as they have taken care of me OK so far. However, it is frustrating when when the rep does not sound like he is taking a concern seriously. I'm guessing they get a lot of bogus type complaints and it makes them a little hard nosed and suspicious, but it is their job and they should be a little bit more customer sensitive.

I took my FLHCS in at 1000 mile service interval for a whining noise coming from the rear belt area in 2nd and 3rd gear while warm with a passenger. Dealer could not duplicate and sent me packing. Twice.
I am sure that hearing peoples problems and just dealing with the public in general day to day gets old but that's no excuse for them to behave in a rude manner. If they cant handle the job, or are getting burned out they need to move on.
I owned a custom home building company for 25 years and I would just cringe when the phone would ring. My wife asked why and I told her no one is calling me to tell me I am doing a great job and I want to give you more money. They are calling cause there is a problem, but I was always friendly and took care of my customers.

Can't realy say he was rude. It was just the tone in his voice and the way questions were asked. It may have been in my head, but it was just like I could here him saying to himself, "another PITA". It was just funny that after they found something atually wrong, how the tone in his voice became much more friendly.
