So are you guys saying I should not worry much about this stupid pump? i want to buy this 115 anniv edition bike and this pump issue is holding me back from pulling a trigger on this beauty.
Also what is cost and best company for extra warranty I might want to consider this.
I am torn apart.
Here's the way I see it: the 2018 pump is lame, the 2019 pump is OK, the 2020 pump is great with a 44% increase in crank cavity scavenge capacity.
Lame and OK seem not to cause an issue on the Softail(duel balance shaft) motors. That's how I see. Do you see it differently??

The service bulletin says the dealer has to replace the 2018 pump when they make a 107 into a 114 with the stage III kit, so, I would definitely be concerned about a 2018 114 engine with the "lame" old pump.
It is always amazing how you guys get this details.
Now I will throw it out there as now I am checking manufacturing dates on bikes I try to buy and hope this will help someone else down the road.
From what dates factory started installing
1. Lame 2018 pump that is lame but somehow work from what I read unless you go to stage 3 and up
2. When they started installing OK 2019 pump
Now I know 2020 pump that should be superb is installed from 5/2019
So should I be concern about 2018 bike with stage 2 or 2019 stock version?
touring M8 motors are rubber mounted and have ONE counter balancer and are indeed prone to sumping, Softail M8 motors are solid mounted and have TWO counter Balancers and don"t appear to be prone to sumping.
Sumping is the Issue that is is causing all the concern and numerous oil pump revisions.
