Sure preload, rebound, and compression are all easily adjustable.

Default EZ Pass

Could anyone suggest where they are mounting/securing EZ Pass units if they are so required in the state you live/travel please? Of course it would be great if they are detected and secure at the same time.

Default 2019 Heritage 114

Hello all,

long time rider but first time Harley owner. Picked up a 2019 Heritage 114 a few weeks ago and I’m in love. I’ve already put close to 1500 miles on her. My girlfriend has ridden every mile with me.

When I purchased the bike, it still had a year of warranty left on it because the previous owner trades it in with like 1100 miles on it.

I purchased some V&H Big Shots, a Big Sucker A/C, and an FP3 but they’re all still in the box unopened. I got into this thread and started reading about how it will void my warranty and decided to think about it longer before I install them, but.... I really want to install them.

At this point, I figure any major issues with the M8 are out in the open - and I really want to install everything I purchased.

As much as I ride, I expect I’ll be over the warranty mileage before the warranty is up anyway, I plan on using it for my commute as well.

Looking for anyone who has run a similar setup, if you had any issues with the setup/warranty, etc. I’d hate to throw everything on and have something catastrophic happen.

Welcome, and congrats on the new to you ride.

Because a dealer gets reimbursed for parts and labor by HD for whatever repairs need to be made, a warranty claim costs HD money. Some dealers are more helpful than others with warranty claims for their customers, especially if the non HD approved parts were bought and installed by them, but that's probably more of an exception than a rule.

The new exhaust, A/C and tuner you purchased will not likely be the cause of any catastrophic failure but, since they are non HD approved parts, they definitely will void whatever is left of your warranty if any engine related failures occur unless it can be proven that the new parts did not cause the failure. That effort, though, will likely be a protracted one, during which your bike will be out of commission while you, the dealer, and HD sort it out. If something like, say, a wheel bearing or fork seal goes bad you won't have a problem.

So you either wait until the factory warranty expires or you roll the dice. An exhaust and A/C swap are extremely common, as is adding a tuner, and though I've been here for only about a year I've not read a single thread about a failure caused by those 3 modifications. Keep in mind, though, that while you could reinstall the original parts before taking the bike in for a warranty repair the dealer will be able to tell that a tuner was installed.

The warranty is 2 years, unlimited miles. So I doubt you will run out the miles.

New Grasshopper backrest was delivered the other day. Put it on and went for a ride. Real nice. It's easy to take off and put back on, so I'll just use it for long rides.

Maybe on the inside of the windshield with velcro?

I bought the Harley windshield bag (2 sections). Unfortunately the EZ Pass is not read by the scanners when it's in either bag. Back to attaching to the windshield.

Good to know, thank you, as I was considering this bag.
