I just installed the front fork fangs on my Heritage and went on a short, 1/2 hour ride. Good news, upward wind buffeting stopped. Bad news, the engine felt very hot and the check engine light popped on towards the end of the ride.
I figured out how to scan through the codes. It was an ECM PN 001503. I cleared it. But I don't see a 1503 listed anywhere.
Anybody know a place that has the Rinehart slip-ons in stock?
Most of the online suppliers seemed to have a few week wait time for shipping. Ordered mine from directly from Rinehart. Got them in less than two weeks even thought they originally said it would be longer. I believe most other sources have them drop shipped directly from Rinehart anyway.
I had the reach seat on my old Heritage and it was perfect. I was looking at the reach seat - Deluxe styling for the 2018s and it only says it pushes you forward not down. Wondering if it’s narrow enough in the front to narrow your stance?
Which seat did you go with?
With the stock '18 Hderitage seat, I was tippy-toe on both sides. The REACH seat (don't know if they make different models) does push you forward and, maybe because of the shape, did lower me some. With my thick heeled boots, I can flat foot one side with the heel of the other foot on the other side off the ground. I'm still considereing installing the lower profile monoshock so I can get the extra inch I need to get flat foor on both sides.
I bought mine from the H-D Dealer and was able to try it before I purchased it. You might want to check with your dealer to see if they have one in stock you can try.
Installed a new rear Michelin Commander II today, put about 70 miles on it and it feels great. Bike had 4,100 miles on it and just down to the wear bars.
Another picture. I changed the Grips to something more comfortable. Also the Stock seat I didn't like so swapped it out for a touring one. same with the passenger seat. passenger back rest is the wider one as well. I think it fits well. Wife really want to see the Passenger foot boards made by someone. Also, Why in the World would HD have the shift lever black, but the other parts chrome and cheap metal. Been looking at a heel shifter kit but cant decide on manufacturer.
Just in case no one else has done their oil change yet, I did my first one at 3000 miles and found that it takes over 4 quarts before it shows on the stick. 4.5 qts puts it just under half way up the stick cold.
I confirm that. I just did first oil change. I let it drain while on the jiffy. Added 4 qts per service manual. Measured with cold oil and hot oil and was consistently on the low side. Added about another half quart. Per the service manual, I am mid stick with cold oil and 'full' with hot oil.
