I really like the look of your swing arm bag. Very nice. Candidly, I’m just a little twitchy about any loss of cornering clearance. I’ve inadvertently scraped the floorboards a couple of times, so I figure I must be close fairly often.

Would the bag touch down earlier, do you think?

Thanks.

Just in case no one else has done their oil change yet, I did my first one at 3000 miles and found that it takes over 4 quarts before it shows on the stick. 4.5 qts puts it just under half way up the stick cold.

Congrats...welcome to the group, specifically the FLHC 107 gang.

Lots of 114'ers hang here, but us 107'ers love them just the same.

What Color?

Enjoy and ride safe!

BELT GAURD - UPPER

Any 2018 Heritage owners experience noise from the belt guard? Took me about a month to isolate the sound that is very present especially on deceleration in 2nd or 3rd around 2-3k rpm. The vibration from the engine turns the upper guard into a tuning fork. Sounds like it's a brake , a loose piece of chrome trim, metal on metal rattling on rotation of the tire or pulley. It also sounds like it's comming from just about anywhere except the chain guard. After many rides and focused attempts to isolate the sound, I actually reached down to touch the upper belt guard while riding. ( yes very carefully and fully aware of the inherent risk) The sound stopped immediately. My first though was to tighten in. That confirmed the issue as it got a bit better. Another few rides I tighten it more. Better again. Finally I took it off. reset it and really torqued it back on. The resonating sound is very minor now, and only present at certain rev ranges. In my youth I would have taken both upper and lower guards away. I see many here who have had no issue with this, and a few who have. In NZ the sharp road chip and terrible state of the roads around Christchurch would just be tempting fate to remove them, so I thought I would just ask on here if anyone else is experiencing the same sound/issue ?

Default New Owner

Hey folks, I just traded in my first ever Harley (17’ Fat Boy) for a new 18 Heritage (107/Black). After sleeping in the garage for two nights and talking to everyone (including the neighborhood cat), a friend pointed me here. The list of mods is piling up! Thanks for your posts and feed back.

I will enjoy it stock for a few months. The lady wants a backrest. I need sound and engine guards. My big questions:

If I put on TabPerformance slip ons will I need to tune it?

I need a few inches up in the bars. Can I add a riser without changing cables? The bars are nice but I’m wanting to lean back a little bit more. Any suggestions.

Stay sharp! Complacency kills.

I don't have an answer on the bars.

Regarding the Tab slip ons, I installed mine with the Zombie baffles. I rode it for about a week before my Powervision tuner arrived from Fuelmoto. I downloaded the tune that was provided by Jamie. The difference in the way the bike ran before the tune and after the tune was pronounced. The low end torque improved, acceleration at higher rpm was smoother and didn't fall off above 4500rpm like stock and the redline was also increased. The freer flowing exhaust will create a leaner mixture during combustion. The bike will adapt to a certain extent but you're definitely leaving some performance on the table by not including a tune with the freer flowing exhaust.

You may have just saved me from jumping off a cliff....

Ok I’m exaggerating, but I’ve had a minor buzz sound around 2900 - 3000 rpm
that I haven’t been able to isolate....I’ve checked every fastener/part I could and never could find it. It sounded like it was coming from the front end, but every trim ring and bolt was solid. It definately seemed harmonic as the rpms were so specific. It’s a very small range so I was mostly able to avoid it, but it was annoying that I couldn’t get rid of it. A few times it went away by itself and I thought maybe the offending part/parts had finally worn itself into silence...but it would be there the very next ride....aaargh. Everything else about the bike has been amazing so that rattle/buzz was a real fly in my soup... I will check out the guard!!! Thank you for risking your life to test it

really looking forward to your results fish. I felt exactly the same way. checked everything over and over again.

Everything else made me proud, but that noise is the most prevalent as you are slowing down, like to a red light and your like "jeez, I hope no one else hears my rattly new bike, you feel like trying to convince the car beside you " It really is a great bike....honest."

Let us know how you get on.
