I'm thinking about buying 2019 softail heritage. I've read that the fluid transfer hasn't been an issue with the softail models. Has there been any issues with oil sumping with the softails?
I have read of 2 And one of them was not sure that was the problem and l did a lot of research on it before I bought my 18 FLHCS. No problems with mine but haven't had it that long. I got it in September of 18 and only have about 5000 miles on it.
Anybody able to change their pin number on their 18 Heritage. I was told that the dealer had to do it.. I tried the procedure in the manual with no luck.

After I posted I found a service bulletin dated nov 2017 about suming issues with the M8 engines. Its Harley service bulletin M1450. It lists affected motorcycles. One affected is all softails with the M8 engine. But it doesn't sound like its wide spreed n the field. The bulletin talks about what part changes harley does to fix the issue.
I saw that bulletin. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I didn't and I couldn't be happier with my FLHCS. Its a machine anything can happen.
I agree too. Just heads up. I'm glad Harley put it out there and put any potential issue on paper. Whats odd to me is that the touring M8 engine is a dry sump oil lubrication and the softail M8 is a wet sump system. I wouldn't think that a wet sump system would have any "sumping" issue since by design it wouldn't even need a scavenge pump to remove oil from the crankcase. A wet sump system wouldn't have an oil tank to pump oil back into.
The issue seems much more prevalent in the touring M8.
