The stock bars are around 7", so I'm not sure you are going to gain anything other than maybe a change in wrist angle.
Im pretty sure the stock bars aren't a 7inch rise. The mini apes I'm looking at are 7inch with an adjuster that lets you make them 8inch rise. And its easily noticeable that the 7inch mini apes are taller than the stock bars.
They are a 3piece 2 point adjustable handlebar with a spacer that lets you increase their height. So I'd be gaining a little bit of height, but more importantly significant adjustability.
I'm just trying to figure out if I'll need to extend the cables or not before I buy them.
In addition to rise Fran I would think one would need to factor in how far back and out the grips will be on the mini apes as compared to the stock bars. Both of those measurements will affect the necessary cable length.
I just laid a straightedge across my bars and they are about 4.5" tall. Add that to the factory risers and you get 7" off the trip tree (with my risers that's about 9"). And my bars are right at 34" wide measured at the outside of my grips. And finally the end of the brake line and clutch cable are about 2" behind the bar clamps which puts them about 4" behind the centerline of the triple tree. All that to say in addition to your apes another key factor will be the risers you plan to use. I hope this helps. I hope I haven't wasted your time telling you things you already know.
Never seen it but I am gonna do the 260mm Rear tire.
Some people have said with the breakout and fat boy if you put a 260 rear on your bike it gives the rear tire a more aggressive profile and makes the bike corner better.
My bike has the original set of tires on it and so I uh definitely need to get new tires out of safety reasons alone. Old tires=bad grip. Original owner nor dealership cared to check the tires, so it falls on me. Such is life.
i only asked this because i called the dealer to see if tires were at any dealerships. they told me no they didnt have them for a fatboy and Harley said they are 90 days out so people are going to either go dark or not ride for 3 months at this point. better order what you think you will need now for later. at this point iam NOT ridding just to ride i have to save the tire wear for what i need

Dont worry you havent really told me stuff I already know. I really havent dont much in the way of looking into bars. So this is all very helpful information.
The risers I got are from LA choppers and I got them purely because of style reasons. They are 1inch shorter than the stock ones.(1.5inch)
I was looking at KST bars but didnt want 10inch tall ones, and came across another set of bars from Arlen Ness that are also fully adjustable like the KST ones are and arent 10inches tall.
If the stock bars are 4.5, and risers 2.5inch, that means I'd be looking at a difference of +1.5inches. This sounds doable without cable extensions, but I guess I cant know until I have the bars in hand.

I mean if you really need too and you don't wanna get stuck with bald tires, Revzilla, JPCycles and Denniskirk have 240/40 18 and 260/40/ 18 tires in stock right now. You can grab one and swap a tire your self if you're worried. Or take it to a shop and ask them to put the tire on.
As for fronts, pretty much any tire 160/60 R18 will be just fine on the front if you reverse it. 150/50 R18 or B18 would have roughly the same profile too.
There's plenty of 160 60s and 150 70s in stock.
I'm pretty sure the dealer was talking specifically the scorchers for the fat boy(tell me if I'm wrong).

With the bars placed on the floor and rolled forward against the wall, you measure from the floor to the grip end of the bar; that is where the end rise is measured. My old bars are 70 miles away, otherwise I would post up a picture for you. I dont remember the exact measurement but Im pretty sure it is around 7, I remember it being more than I expected. Regardless, having personally gone from stock to 10 mini apes, just dont think your going to feel a significant height difference going to a 7 rise, but if they are comfortable and work for you, that is all that matters✌️

A few forum members have reported they were able to use the 4 pullback risers, which raise the stock bars up 2 and back 2. If you are only looking at +1-1/2 over stock, you should have no problem using stock wiring, clutch cable, and brake line.
