Default Seat options

Hey guys, first time posting here. Have a question about solo seats. I recently bought a mustang touring, and while the seat is super comfortable, it looks kinda out of place due to it's balloon appearance. I'm thinking of sending it back in place of a mustang wide tripper (diamond) or a saddlemen renegade-ls. As both of these seats seem to fit the look of the bike better. People with either of the 2 options outside of the mustang touring, how's the comfort compared to the stock seat? Thanks in advance

I’ve got both the Mustang wide tripper and touring seat, both are far more comfortable than the stock seat. The wide tripper is fine for local/day trips but I definitely prefer the touring seat for anything more than ~150 mile days. No personal experience with the saddlemen.

willing to part with my diamond stitch wide tripper for a good deal, PM if interested.

I've got the Saddlemen Renegade Solo, and the Sundowner. The Renegade is a great seat, and I did 4,000 miles on it in 11 days, but the minute I got home I got the Sundowner.

The Sundowner is a better touring seat, more comfortable, etc. The Saddlemen is definitely better than stock, and I keep it on the bike 90% of the time. But if I'm planning on 300+ miles per day, the Sundowner is the more comfortable option. The Renegade is fine for 100-200 miles or so, but much more than that and it starts to hurt. I've done Iron Butt runs on the Sundowner (1100 in 24 hrs, 1500 in 36). I wouldn't want to try that on the Saddlemen, but it was easily doable on the Sundowner.

So it wouldn't be a bad idea to have 2 seats depending on how long a ride you're in for pretty much. That's not a bad idea at all. I would like to keep the touring seat, but it's missing that more sporty look that I could get with one of the other solos. Thanks for explaining your experience, it's definitely a big help.
Also thanks El Mago for your input as well. You also have a pm 👍👍

Got my new FB and lovin’ it. Tried the Screamin Eagle slip-ons and they did nothing to improve the sound. Went right back. Are there ANY slip-ons that are approved for California? Nobody will ship here due to CARB.

I got the S&S slip-ons and they sound great for a slip-on, I only swapped the EU db killer for a US db killer ( I made them myself, thanks to some measurements from other forum members ) and now they are perfect for me.

I have the S&S Grand National slip-ons and can confirm also they are very good, deeper rumble at idle and at higher revs they sound nasty (in a good way).

Just got the 15' windshield, which I think looks awesome, takes the wind blast off your arms and chest, more wind to the face and head but I quite like that.

I got the larger windscreen, only use it for longer high way trips
