Dead Battery?

H-D know all about it see post #41, they as far as I am aware they have not come up with an answer as to what is the actual cause!

The trouble is ours would not do it all the time and be able replicate it, I carried out a lot of tests trying to get it draw excess current without any luck. I know that when the bikes went in for a service last time in October, when we got home one was discharging, as the battery tender (Optimate) would be continually charging, re-moved the main fuse as per TA0025 and it reset.
Next time we are at the dealers I will ask them again about this as all previous times when I have asked they said there was no update, so if it is a Firmware update then one bike at least or both have not had it!
I really do hope this is the fix as when away at the end of the month we will be using ferries and have to put the bikes in Transport mode and do not really want to going through the process of removing the fuse!

It only happened to mine once and I have transported a couple times before. I will just pull the fuse from now on as to not take any chances. I can see where that would be a pain on ferries. You could hide the fobs on the bikes somewhere and not put it in transport. I think that will work.

Hey, I have a 2018 Softail Sport Glide and this moring the battery was totally toast. I had it parked all winter and went out and started up ever couple of weeks and let it run for about 15 minutes, no issues. Been riding it almost every day since march 50 miles round trip to work and then a few long rides here and there on the weekends. Weekend before last, I trailered the bike to Montana to drop off my sons truck to him. Then I rode it the 350 miles home no issues. Rode it all week last week parked it for the weekend and didn't get a chance to ride it for 1 damn weekend. 1 weekend i had to do grownup stuff and the bike wont start. I didn't have time to plug in the charger or check the voltage but this is annoying. I googled 2018 Softail dead battery and it brought me to this forum so I joined just to share my frustration. thanks for positng this thread, I am glad I am not the only one that has had this issue and will keep yall updated on what HD does for me.

Either disconnect the battery or R&R the main fuse to reset. From now on if I ever haul my bike I will just pull the fuse and replace when I get to where I am going. I hate letting those dealer techs touch my bike.
