@cwsharp I will echo what @VernDiesel said. The lowers added to the 15” Gustafson were definitely an additional noticeable improvement.
Thanks. I don't think that I will need them... my main concern is that it won't be tall enough to keep the bugs off of my forehead <grin>. My road king didn't have lowers either but the main use of the windshield in Utah is to cut the wind in cold weather so that I don't have to wear a full face helmet.
I am only 5'11" with a 32 or 33" inseam. but the 15 inch easily lets the wind clear my helmet.
Without the lowers, air came in over the tank and did two things:
Created a small eddy of air swirling in front of my eyes. Not annoying with the right sunglasses, but noticeable.
More annoyingly, it also created helmet lift at higher speeds. I use a half-helmet. SUPER annoying.
The lowers fixed both of those issues for me. Still a little air coming in, but not creating either of those annoyances for me now.
Borrow a set from a friend. You won’t want to give them back. The whole aerodynamic package so to speak now finally works as it should. I wasn’t unhappy before adding the lower deflectors until I found out what better was.
