Too answer the first questions everyone asks, why didn't I just buy a Street Glide. I got the bike off someone who won it at a casino raffle for a great price and the bike is paid for. I really like having the option to go from stripped down Deluxe style to fully loaded bagger. Orignal paint was twisted cherry, but was heavily damaged in a wind storm so changed to two tone cherry silver fortune.
Fairing is Reckless, bags off an older Road King using Cyclevision Baggertail mounts. Wheels are ultima, also got a deal as my buddy bought them for his road king and decided against using them. Exhaust is Bassani 2-1 which you need to run or the bags would hit the top of the staggered. Except for the fairing and bag mount, everything was from the forums or off facebook so price was much lower than new.
Only issues is the seat just rubs the lid, so need to shave the seat down. Wish the pipes extended to end of bags but they run great so not sure I would change. I do like the true duals but not liking the fish tails. the normal ones also dont seem to extend to end of fender.
Very well done.
I need a pic of the saddle bag to exhaust clearance.
I have the v&h pro pipe and it sits a little higher then yours.
I think your bike turned out exactly like my long term vision for mine. Again, excellent work.
Now THAT is what Im talking about. Love it!! Wish I had the resources to do that to my heritage. The Softail is perfect size for me, but I want the Hard bags and a batwing from the touring bikes. Nice work and thanks for sharing!!
