Default FYI. Power Vision maps and Speedometer calibration

I got a map for my Heritage from Fuel Moto. The map was developed on a Fatboy and their exhaust systems are virtually identical. So the map works great. Problem is my speedometer was way the hell off. Guessing there is a fair amount of difference in diameter between the Fatboy and Heritage rear tires. And I had no idea what the stock PPK value was to correct it. Luckily I found a nice guy on another forum who supplied me with the values for a Heritage. Speedo is now calibrated and right on the money. Worth keeping in mind when getting a map that wasn't developed for your exact model.

Just for general knowledge, all new Softail's do not use the same calibrations, they require specific calibrations be used in the proper models. There are several reasons why but just to name a few are different exhaust, different fuel tanks, different gauge systems and more. So just adjusting one item you notice wrong may very well not be a correct answer, it is best to use the correct calibration to start with for the correct model bike being worked on.

Thanks Steve. Neither Dynojet or Fuel Moto have Heritage specific maps. Dynojet does differentiate between the Fat Bob and the rest of the Softail line. I'm sure that's due too the Fat Bob exhaust system being way different than the other Softails.

There is much more to it than just the exhaust system, I wish it would have been only that simple to figure it all out.
