The posts have been very helpful. OldMike. When you put the 12.6 length shock on your Low Rider, did it lower the rear of your bike/r seat height any? Did it affect handling/low speed stability? I could definitely use another 1" lower seat height because of my short legs.
I ended up leaving the 465 shock on my 2019 Low Rider when I traded it in. I thought on that bike the 465 kept the rear tire planted better but for ride comfort I didn't notice a difference, it keeps the stock ride height.
The Low Rider S I have now didn't seem as twitchy on bumpy corners but I still wanted a more comfortable ride so installed a 13.1" shock from a Fat Bob, the 13.1" has more travel and I'm very happy with it.
If you want to go lower with a stock Harley 12.6" shock, maybe try THIS for not too much money.
Will the Fat Bob adjuster clear the stock exhaust? Looks like it would be too close & possibly get damaged from heat. I haven't installed it yet because I'm waiting for the side cover.
Thanks.
