750 miles into the ‘19 Softail Deluxe with Ventilator intake and V&H Eliminator slip ons. Scream’n Eagle Street Turner and I know it is lean! I’m so tempted to throw the drive train warranty under the bus and put the FP3 Tuner on.

EPA (big government) she got me twisted! How many with the non touring M8 have taken the leap?

I don't have an FP3, but I flashed mine with Power Vision and a file from Fuel Moto before it even had 50 miles.

I have 3 FP3's for my FI bikes & have been happy with them. I also completely agree about V&H customer service they helped me out tremendously when Harley denied my warranty claim when my ECU on my 14 Ultra went out. HD blamed the tuner & V&H told me they constantly flash ECU's (100k x's) & never have had a problem. V&H is my go to tuning & pipe company for this reason.

Completely stock 114 air cleaner and Rinehart slip-ons with stock headers. Runs fantastic. Almost too loud LOL. I'd take it back to the dealer if they did the install and have them fix it before I threw out my warranty. That's just me though given my 20K+ investment. Not that I don't trust V&H (though I'd do Power Vision) I just really don't trust lawyers.

While I went with the Power Vision vs. the FP3, I had no issue giving up my warranty when the little beastie was just one year old with 6000 miles on the clock. When she had 3000 miles I installed the
V & H Eliminator 300 slip ons. In my situation, the bike ran worse and needed a tuner. I ran it that way for the next 3000 miles and parked her for the winter. Fast forward to early spring of this year and I went with a Zippers 468 cam, Bassani 2-1 long exhaust and a Ventilator AC.
I have put approximately another 5300 miles on her with the Stage II. If I had it to do all over again, I would have went straight for the Stage II and still kissed my warranty goodbye! Whatever tuner you decide on, buy it from Fuel Moto. You know you may cam it up soon anyway. And Fuel Moto will be with you at all times.

I built up the nerve and ordered the FP3! I've used the FP3 on two other bikes and extremely pleased with them. My concern isn't about the FP3, it's about the motor components. I'm 200 miles away from the 1000 Mile service And when that is done, I'm going to tune her with a solid tune. At least I'll still have a warranty on the rest of the bike!

The biggest comfort came from the mileage thread, there are High mileage M8 non touring bikes with zero problems so far.

Thanks for the input guys!

I’m rocking a ventilator AC and big radius pipes on my 18 FLSB with a FP3. I wouldn’t own a FI H-D without one, no matter how new it is. V&H stands formally behind their product and will do things that the MoCo can’t/won’t. The auto tune is a great feature, just make sure you have bike warm before trying to use it or it will run like **** until it warms up. AT disables the warm up enrichment (ie choke). And monitoring the temps of your heads is a great feature. When I went out west this summer I was a littler nervous but the 100+ degrees heat that I got in western CO and eastern UT, but heads didn’t get hotter than 305, so ok there.
So take the plunge and screw your warranty after you have your 1k done. Any manufacturer defects will normally show up by then, and that’s what you really want warranty for

FP3 delivered yesterday. Odometer is at 800 miles, now if the weather will hold out so I can get the 1000 mile service done. Assuming they find no warning signs while doing that service (we can only assume that they look), I’ll be putting the FP3 in action. This is eating me alive.
