I have a spare Bassani 2-1 exhaust and I've also played around with dB reducers for my S&S Superstreet muffler but never thought to try it with the Bassani, I think it's possible though.
I can tell you the S&S with dB reducer feels responsive and fast right off idle. The Bassani a bit less off idle but has a stronger midrange. The dB reducer in a Bassani is going to be a quieter system for sure.

Listening to the video in this string comparing stock, Bassani as S&S with/without reducer, the Bassani is the loudest. I reckon the reducer still sounds great though and if it works in my Bassani, it might just take some edge off the almost obscenely loud pipe! Good obscene though!!!

The S&S without the dB reducer caused a ton of droning in my ears and seemed quite a bit louder to me when I did the comparison. The Bassani was much more tolerable for my ears. I liked that Bassani but had to get rid of it due to scraping the front header in right hand curves.

I've really been enjoying the S&S though. Especially after installing the S&S touring pipe baffle following OldMike's advice.

With the dB reducer in, the bike is more responsive down low and pulls harder through the low and mid range. I didn't feel a difference in the upper RPM range with and without the dB reducer installed.

The pipe sounds mean as hell without the dB reducer in but it was too much droning for my ears. Plus I like the way it performs with the dB reducer installed. I cut the dB reducer down to increase the volume a bit. It helped a bit and had no noticable effect on the performance.

Mchad had his on a dyno with the full length dB reducer and a dB reducer he cut down in length as I did and the dyno showed a negligible difference between the two. I'll look for that thread and place a link.

Out of curiosity and because I want to cut my db reducer down, did you have to retune the bike afterwards?

I ran auto tune on my Power Vision a few sessions afterwards just in case but I'm not sure it was necessary.
